Feature request: ``Remember me'' option on sign in

This will set a cookie in the user's browser containing a pseudorandom token which will be looked up on the server site to obtain the user ID for the login. Login via one of these tokens will not require the password. Note that the cookie will be set only if this option is requested; otherwise the application will remain 100% cookie-free.

Perhaps it would make sense (in particular in conjunction with the cookies for ``remember me'') to define an alias on the HTTP server so that the application could be accessed with a URL like {\tt http://www.fourmilab.ch/hdo} instead of all of the {\tt cgi-bin} rigmarole.
